IMPACT OF ADVERTISING ON THE GROWTH OF SMALL SCALE BUSINESS IN GENERAL

ABSTRACT
This experiment was carried out at Standard Insurance Company Aba in order to determine the impact of advertising on the growth of small businesses. The project work comprises of four research questions designed to investigate the impact of advertising on the growth of small-scale businesses.

Forty two questionnaires were distributed, and forty two were returned. The questionnaire was the research instrument used by the researchers in their descriptive technique.

The findings indicate that advertising has a substantial impact on the growth of small businesses and has a positive effect on the business of conventional insurance companies. The findings on the expansion of small-scale businesses were investigated.

The data indicate that:

1. The standard insurance company has reduced the intensity of its advertising effort.

2. The company, which used to be a significant sponsor of a radio broadcast, has a relationship with another customer who occasionally patronises it.

3. The corporation mostly advertises through electronic media.

4. The corporation has opened a new branch in Delta State without advertising.

5. The reason for not advertising the new branch in Delta state was a lack of cash. Also, the manager believes that previous advertising has a lasting impact on the public.
