DEVELOPMENT OF WEB BASED JOB RECRUITMENT PORTAL

Chapter one

1.0 Introduction

The primary goal of this system is to assist HR Personnel in the process of recruiting new candidates for the organisation. This web-based corporate recruitment process system will primarily handle the posting and administration of job openings.

When a Job Provider posts a job opportunity in this system, the WRMS searches the entire system and selects all job seekers’ email addresses, qualifications, and matches with the organization’s requirements.

The job seeker must register with the system and upload his résumé. He can search for employment and update his profile. This will allow potential job applicants to browse for available positions and, if desired, submit an application online.

This approach informs job seekers about the quantity of available vacancies for the specific position applied for. He can also determine whether the position for which he is applying is still open or not.

The administrator can examine the jobs, run queries, add or delete job openings, and add or remove employees from the system. The interviewer can log in to the system and view the list of candidates scheduled for an interview on a specific date.

The HR Manager can create new jobs, change the requirements for current openings, and delete listings that are already filled. The online test can be modified by the job provider.

The HR Manager must register with the system. He can log in to the system using his unique id and password. After logging in, he can change his password.

Background of the study

In recent years, online activities have largely overtaken all other forms of transaction. This is due to the introduction of the internet, which enables a global network connection for all of these activities.

With this technology, numerous institutions have spread their tentacles over the world. In keeping with this trend, job seekers and employers must join the global community in sharing information via the internet. This concept serves as the foundation for the project.

A web portal, also known as a links page, displays information from multiple sources in a cohesive format. Aside from the typical search engine, online portals provide e-mail, news, stock quotes, information, databases, and entertainment.

Portals allow companies to give a consistent look and feel with access control and procedures for many apps and databases that would otherwise be separate entities.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

The primary goal of this Web-based Recruitment is to acquire information that will be required immediately or in the future for the processing of other tasks.

The design and implementation of a recruiting portal for the organisation is directed towards the complete management of this information through the establishment of an interactive, well-designed environment for data gathering, saving, and well-structured methods of execution to produce acceptable results.

Aim and Objectives of the Study

This project work is aimed at reducing the loss of candidate information due to any circumstance, such as a fire burning the store where the candidate’s files are kept or misplacing the file, and with this process, the recruitment portal, the file, or the candidate’s information will be secure on saved or kept information and if this task is completed.

The primary goal of this system is to simplify the recruitment process for any organisation. This system allows organisations to recruit applicants who have met the required criteria.

Send the emails as soon as possible to all job searchers whose abilities match the job provider’s requirements. Another goal is to eliminate the communication gap between Job Seekers and Job Providers. The primary goal of this method is to be dependable for all jobseekers when searching for work.

The practical goal of this project is to create and construct an online recruitment platform. One of the most essential aims of this project is to contribute to academic research activity, and the subsidiary objectives include:

To assist firms in posting job offers online and searching their database for candidates who best match their empty job positions.
Job seekers can create their curriculum vitae (CVs) online, search for new job opportunities in industries and organisations, receive e-mail notifications of relevant job openings, and apply directly through the website.

To assist organisations in attracting, testing, recruiting, employing, and retaining great employees while requiring minimal administration.

To minimise or eliminate instant messaging among recruitment agents or personnel managers.

1.3.1 Advantages.

WRMS is a method for reducing communication between job providers and job seekers.

Globally, there are many changes in IT marketplaces, and distinct patterns are emerging. Based on that, this is the most effective method for recruiting people.

WRMS can easily handle the process.

WRMS is the ideal time-saving tool for both Job Providers and Job Seekers.

WRMS is also a cost-effective approach, as tests are conducted online and notifications are sent via email.

1.4 Significance of the Study

If this prototype is fully developed, it will be extremely valuable in many fields, including:

It will make life easier for any organization’s human resources department.

It will increase work options for our youngsters.

The government can also examine and implement it in other industries.

Private persons may also find it intriguing.

Project methodology

This project will use web technology in its implementation. PHP will be developed primarily using Dreamweaver. This work will go into great detail on database connections with MySQL.

1.6 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

1.6.1 Existing System Limitations:

The current system is a manual procedure. In this case, the job provider must place advertisements in newspapers or hire consultants, among other options. It will take a long time to examine resumes and administer the examination.

To complete the process, they must fill out a lot of paperwork. There will be a significant time gap between resume processing, testing, and interviews. This is the most challenging challenge that both Job Providers and Job Seekers must encounter.

Work on the job provider side will be delayed, while on the job seeker side, he must remain inactive until the final outcome is released. He must spend more money compared to internet recruitment.
