ABSTRACT
This study looked into entrepreneurial education for the economic empowerment of out-of-school youths in Enugu State. The specific purposes of the study were to identify the types of entrepreneurship education programs for economic empowerment of out-of-school youths in Enugu state;
determine the extent to which entrepreneurship education enhances production potentials of out-of-school youths in Enugu state; determine the extent to which entrepreneurship education enhances skill acquisition among out-of-school youths in Enugu state; determine the extent to which entrepreneurship education
The study was based on six research topics and two null hypotheses. The study was designed as a descriptive survey. The study’s sample makeup was determined using a simple random sampling technique.
The population of this study included eight thousand seven hundred and ninety (8,790) male and female members of one hundred and fifteen (115) registered youth organisations in Enugu state.
The sample included 899 members of registered youth organisations in Enugu State. The data acquired from the six research questions were analysed using mean scores and standard deviation, while the two null hypotheses developed for the study were tested using t-test analysis.
The findings demonstrated that the outcomes of technical activities can benefit individuals and nations economically and otherwise; education provides out-of-school adolescents with manufacturing capabilities;
and entrepreneurship education improves functional skill acquisition among out-of-school youths. Marketing skills training is provided to ensure that out-of-school youths become more aware of and understand financial products and services.
