THE EXTENT OF AVAILABILITY OF GEOGRAPHY AND THEIR ACCESSORIES FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF GEOGRAPHY EDUCATION IN SENIOR SECONDARY IN ENUGU NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
A SHORT HISTORY OF THE RESEARCH
The most effective method for achieving computer study is dependent on the degree to which computer education is based on actual experience. This study focuses on the availability of computer systems and their accessories. Aneke I.C. is the author of this post (2005).
When given a set of instructions, a computer can be programmed to perform a certain task. Pre-recorded instructions can be followed using this device ( a program). Computers have risen to prominence in virtually every facet of human endeavor, including education. In today’s classrooms, computers are employed in a variety of ways for teaching and learning.
Computes may now guide a student through an instruction course on a video display unit in a way that helps the subject matter be understood. Students benefit from this method since it expedites their educational progress. Instead of a human teacher, this method allows the student to re-learn any part of the material as many times as necessary.
To describe this method of education, it is called computer-aided learning (CAL). If a student fails to answer a multiple-choice question correctly, the computer will score their performance and decide whether to go on to the next level of study or repeat the lecture just finished based on their performance. We name this method of teaching computer aided instruction (CAI) (CAI).
Computers, in addition to educational software, have a significant impact on the availability of educational resources. With the help of computers, school libraries are being transformed into entirely new types of information resource centers.
When searching for library materials via a virtual library, there is no need to travel between libraries. The targeted user will be able to access the data with just a few keystrokes on a computer keyboard or mouse clicks. Aneke defines accessories as everything that makes using a computer easier or more convenient. To name a few, there’s the usual suspects like the keyboard, scanner, printer, mouse, and monitor.
These research are focused on the extent to which these accessories can be viewed on the tablet. Nigerian students in Enugu North, in particular, struggle with a lack of computer gear. Thus, the system is underutilized as a result of the accessories not being installed on the computer.
As part of the 1987 National Council on Education’s 32nd Ministerial Council meeting, computer study was instituted at the secondary school level. The installation of these accessories should improve the smooth operation of programs in order to improve the learning of students. Secondary schools will benefit from this research, as well as the actions needed to keep their computer systems and accessories in good working order.
Definition of the Issue
It is the goal of the researcher to determine the extent to which computer systems are available in secondary schools in Enugu North, and this can be accomplished by counting the number of computers in the school that students will have access to during practical classes, as well as the availability of computer accessories.
In order to gather data during the course of the investigation, the researcher has posed a few questions. Why are there less computer systems in the school’s computer lab, which is the best method for teaching computer education practical?
Why aren’t there any accessories in the computer lab that would be beneficial for using the machine?
The Study’s Purpose
The purpose of the study was to determine the extent to which Enugu north local government area’s senior secondary schools had access to computer systems and their accessories for efficient teaching and learning. What was the primary goal of this investigation?
There is a wide range of computer systems and related peripherals that can be used to teach and learn computer science effectively.
2. The teaching strategies employed by the instructors.
How often do the students have hands-on experience with computers?
The extent to which schools are able to maintain their computers and their peripherals.
The Importance of the Research
Researchers hope to learn more about the extent to which computer systems and related accessories are readily available in senior secondary schools in Enugu North’s education zone so that they can better support computer science instruction. Students, instructors, and school officials will benefit from this study’s findings.
In order to improve teaching and learning, students may benefit from having access to computers and related equipment in the lab. As long as teachers have access to adequate instructional materials, their work will be made easier.
Computer education in Nigeria’s secondary schools should be established and defined strategies and technologies developed by the federal and state governments should be implemented. This material helps educational administrators achieve these goals. Included in this technique are:
Educating teachers and other staff members.
facilities for implementing software
The creation of a new curriculum
The process of creating and evaluating software
Hardware and peripheral device upkeep.
Study’s Purpose
The purpose of this research is to determine the extent to which senior secondary schools in the Enugu North Local Government Area have computer systems and their accessories. Among the expected accessories in schools are:
Keyboard, mouse, etc. are examples of input devices.
Monitors, scanners, and other output devices
System and application software are installed.
It’s all about the software.
Dedicated computer room.
