ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to determine the problem of secondary school housing in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The proposed project work was survey research. This entails distributing a questionnaire to responders to gather information.
For analysis, the questionnaire was collected, coded, and counted. The data was examined using a straightforward percentage. Numerous issues were responsible for our secondary school’s inadequate housing conditions, as indicated by the findings. The researcher provided helpful suggestions based on the findings.

INTRODUCTION
CONTEXT OF THE STUDY
Missionaries and traders were responsible for establishing the first schools in Nigeria. Because there were so few people who were interested in education at the time, the school building was fairly spacious. Until 1976, when the government assumed responsibility for the administration of secondary schools, the majority of schools were run by missions, which were based on the supreme being.
These schools were administered, staffed, and supplied by missions and private organizations. Since the state government has assumed control of secondary schools and the population has increased geometrically, there has been a need to construct more secondary schools in many places, and the current ones have grown overcrowded, as the people have recognized the importance of education.
When people realized that the goal had been altered to produce a helpful citizen, there was a surge in enrollment for the common entrance exam, and institutions were faced with the challenge of accommodating the growing number of pupils.
Eleven secondary schools are located in the Egor Local Government Area. Approximately half are founded by missionaries such as the Roman Catholic Mission and CMS (Church Missionary Society). Today’s schools are overcrowded, creating an accommodation issue.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
This study focuses mostly on studying the subject of secondary school housing in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. The problem of inadequate classrooms, lack of supplies and laboratory equipment, absence of staff quarters, and shortage of clinic space persists in our school system.
The primary objectives of this study are to determine how the problem of inadequate housing in selected secondary schools in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State might be resolved.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The goal of this initiative is to bring to the notice of the public and the government the issue of inadequate housing in selected secondary schools in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. To pave the path for change, these are the appropriate remedies or ideas for resolving this issue in our institutions.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this investigation is to determine the extent to which secondary schools in the Egor Local Government Area have been affected by the accommodation situation.
It is believed that the school administration and classroom teachers will find this research valuable in their efforts to improve teaching and learning among students in schools.
It will also help reduce the disobedience associated with the problem of housing.
The research is intended to serve as a guide for school administrators in the Nigerian state of Edo in the development of school curricula aimed at resolving the issue of accommodation.
It is also hoped that the information contained herein will aid the ministry of education and the communities in the allocation and selection of land for the future construction of a new school.
SCOPE OF THE RESEARCH
In this project work, the researcher verifies his study on the accommodation problem in select secondary schools in the Egor Local Government Area in order to acquire credible, empirical evidence. This is the only method by which the researcher can solve the issue. Principals, classroom teachers, students, the Parents Teachers Association, and the Ministry of Education will comprise the study’s population.

Due to a lack of staff housing, it is difficult for students to contact a teacher after school hours.
Teachers and students’ health is in jeopardy due to a lack of clinic space.
