ABSTRACT
Lakowe is one of the coastal regions located below sea level. To minimise environmental disasters, one of the essential actions to take to safeguard the safety of community people is to use high-quality plumbing materials while building houses and roadways.
The study examined the impact of environmental dangers on the purchasing of high-quality plumbing supplies in the Lakowe community of the Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area.
The study’s aims include investigating the impact of environmental dangers on the community and proposing potential solutions to environmental concerns. 90 residents were chosen at random from the area’s 3000 dwellings to participate in the study.
One noteworthy result is that environmental dangers have a significant impact on the selection and purchase of high-quality plumbing supplies in Lakowe.
Residents agree that environmental threats such as flooding and erosion are widespread in the Lakowe village. The study concluded that people of Lakowe should utilise high-quality plumbing materials in their area to avoid problems like as erosion, among others.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background for the Study
Lakowe is a notable community in Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, which is also known as “New Lagos” (Okereke, 2014).
It is divided into three phases: Adeba Phase 1, Lakowe Lakes Estate, and Gulf Estate Phase II. Although many individuals from all areas of the country and the world live in Lakowe, particularly in the current estates, the majority of the inhabitants are Ijebu speakers who work in fishing, petty trades, motorcycling, masonry, serving, and farming.
Furthermore, most of the Lakowe village lies below sea level (Addynamo, 2012). The soil is sandy along the coast, while other places are muddy and swampy.
Because coastal zones represent a transition between the terrestrial and marine environments, the community is not immune to certain factors that may have negative consequences, such as soil and coastal erosion, water pollution, population pressure, sea level rise, and flooding (Owolabi 2010).
The combination of these several difficulties makes the coastal environment delicate, necessitating the use of high-quality construction materials.
