ASSESSMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE PERFORMANCE OF PRINCIPALS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN KADUNA METROPOLIS.
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to undertake an “Assessment of Administrative Role performance of Principals of Secondary Schools in Kaduna Metropolis”. The study opened up with a general overview of the topic, Statement of the Problem, Objectives of the Study, Research Questions, Hypotheses to provide the Framework for the investigation to be carried out. Basic assumptions were made, the Significance of the study outlined, Scope and Delimitations of the study clearly specified. A review of various related and relevant literatures made following the Objectives, Research Questions and Hypotheses of the study. All were intended to provide theoretical basis for the survey research. The methodology used clearly specified, processes for data collection and data analysis enclosed. Interpretation of data findings, conclusions and recommendations were made by the researcher using descriptive analysis and statistical tool like t-test. However, effective administrative process would all the necks of the principals and put him on the right place for effective performance. Finally, the study recommended that government should be able to increase principals’ remuneration, give room to further studies, organize refresher courses, seminars, workshops, provide teaching materials, enough fund and improvement on the infrastructures in the school. Effective network for easy communication, easy flow of information and proper organization should be established. Parents should help principals in their administrative activities.
