AUTOMATED QUESTIONING SYSTEM

Chapter one

GENERAL INTRODUCTIONS
Today, the introduction of an automated questioning system has improved the functioning of various sectors, including education, banking, and government parastatals.

The adoption of an automated questioning system has assisted various government parastatals in eliminating manual methods of conducting tests, the results of which can only be determined later.

The automated questioning methodology also allows applicants, students, and educators to know the results right away, as opposed to the manual method, which does not provide quick feedback.

This project is a computer-assisted learning software that allows lecturers, teachers, and educators to simply create their own interactive quiz questions on their own computers. It tests understanding within a specific discipline.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

This research project aims to implement an automated questioning system that would allow student applicants to be examined in real time. Its purpose and objectives are as follows.

To provide the participant with an immediate result for the inquiry asked without further delay.

To eliminate some human errors associated with the manual interview or question method.

To give flexible ways of generating questions by presenting and associating both question options and correct options.

It produces accurate results that are more trustworthy than manual computation.

It aims to expose students to the most recent advances in information technology.

Significance of the Study

This article seeks to give a simple and straightforward approach of assessing students’ or candidates’ understanding of a specific discipline. Its purpose is to administer such tests in plain and simple language, with prompt computation and dissemination of results for subsequent action.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION.

The system is an automated questioning system in which three courses were considered, namely English, Mathematics, and C++ coding, to evaluate the intellect of the applicant, with each course having a time schedule that accrues marks to each question for each course.

Each applicant must have been pre-registered by the administrator before being able to answer the question by logging in with the email address and examination number provided at registration.

In addition, the technology allows the administrator to remove an applicant’s information if necessary. You are only permitted to attempt to log into the system using incorrect info three times before being barred from doing so.

Research Methodology

This write-up’s data collection approach is observation.

A quiz tournament was held to collect information about how quizzes are taken manually. The information gathered was used to create the automated questioning system.

Some notes on the issues with the manual quiz administration system that led to the development of the automated questioning system. In addition, library materials were used for research purposes.

1.6 Organisation of the Project Report

The research report is organised into five (5) chapters that methodically evaluate and analyse the suggested system that was created.

Chapter one provides an overview of the proposed system. It focuses on the project’s goals and objectives, the significance of the study, its scope and limitations, and how the report is organised.

The second chapter contains a literature review, which includes published and unpublished studies by other researchers, historical background, study technique, and the current state of the art.

The third chapter contains the project body’s step-by-step study of the existing system, including how it was carried out in order to identify its inadequacies. A survey was also included in the description of the proposed system.

The fourth chapter is dedicated to the design, implementation, and documentation of the proposed system. This entails conducting a comprehensive analysis of the input and output specifications.

The purpose of the many key programmes in the system, as well as their interrelationships, were explained. The emphasis was also placed on the system’s security, as well as the benefits provided, implementation methodologies, programming language, software, and hardware support by the new system, which make it commendable as a replacement to the existing system.

The final chapter assesses the designed system by summarising the experiences obtained and making recommendations to not just students and educators, but also anyone interested in carrying out similar tasks.

The references, system flowchart, programme flowchart, source programme listing, and sample outputs all contributed to the chapter’s length.
