ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to investigate the issues of operating small-scale business businesses in a depressed economy, with a focus on the fast food sector. The selection of fast food as a study is motivated by the fact that this industry has the potential to produce and generate job opportunities in the Nigerian economy. Its primary goals will be to identify and examine the major problems faced by fast food in Owerri, to determine how fast food businesses have dealt with challenges and demand for their products/services in a depressed economy, and to assess fast food’s contribution to Imo State’s economic development. The research will include a study completed on 135 Mr. Biggs and Crunchies employees. The resulting data was analysed using both percentage and chi-square (X2) tests to determine whether it was significant in relation to the stated hypothesis. The relative frequency percentage average will thus serve as the foundation for suggestions to assist in overcoming the obstacles of managing small-scale company organisations.
