Background for the Study
Statement of the Problem
The current project intends to design and implement a computerised library management system for the University Department Library and integrate it with the University Central Library.
The abstract is titled “Design and Implementation of Computerised Library Management System in Anambra state college of agriculture, Mgbakwu” .
The purpose of the study
1. Create an up-to-date database of books and other resources for the Anambra State College of Agriculture Library in Mgbakwu.
2. Implement automated library management system with open source software.
3. Improve charging and discharging efficiency in the circulation section.
4. To provide a variety of search methods to determine the availability of books in the library.
To generate a list of books due by a certain member, as well as overdue costs.
Significance of the Study
1. It contributes to the updating of the College Library’s database of books and other resources at Anambra State College of Agriculture in Mgbakwu.
2. It improves the efficiency with which the circulation section charges and discharges.
3. It is useful to provide several search options to determine the availability of books in the Library.
It assists in generating a list of books due by a certain member, as well as overdue costs.
It helps to keep track of issues and book submissions.
Scope of the Study
The focus of this study is confined to the extent to which a computerised Library Management system is used at the college library at Anambra State College of Agriculture, Mgbakwu.
