ABSTRACT
Harmonised community development initiatives drive development in any community. Community development programs must address people’s felt needs. Life in each community reflects its level of development. The Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria [CRUADN] prioritises skill acquisition training for youths, human rights workshops, clothing supplies, bore hole construction, food distribution, capacity building, good governance training, and community awareness.
The research focused on assessing the activities of the Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria (CRUDAN) in the South East zone. Five research topics and two hypotheses were proposed.
A 40-item questionnaire was distributed to 1288 members of CRUDAN. The research questions were answered using means, and the two hypotheses were tested using t-test statistics.
The study found that promoting women’s rights, utilising volunteers, collaborating with community leaders, and offering legal assistance to underprivileged individuals improves development in communities where CRUDAN operates.
