Abstract A dependable and uninterruptible power supply is essential for mission-critical loads to operate efficiently and optimally. However, in most developing countries, the electric power supply is characterized by frequent failures, and when it is available, it is largely unreliable because the standard three-phase power supply is frequently unbalanced, and the quality is degraded by fluctuations.
This project required the design and development of an automatic three-phase power supply selector to ensure continuous and reliable power supply to critical infrastructure.
The automated system’s performance was tested, and the results showed that whenever a voltage input or any combination of inputs from the three power phases that served as reference inputs to the control system was present, a voltage output was automatically produced to ensure reliable supply to mission-critical loads.
