DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A DIAGNOSTIC EXPERT SYSTEM FOR KIDNEY DISEASES

ABSTRACT
Expert system on kidney disorders is a software doctor who aims to create a package that can serve as an expert doctor’s assistant in the absence of one. A database of the processes used to diagnose renal illnesses will be built, allowing for the recovery of data obtained and kept for further use.

This software is straightforward, easy, and dependable; it provides an individual with computer skills with a broad variety of knowledge for diagnosing kidney disorders and recommending therapies after entering data.

When correctly implemented, this project will assist hospitals, research centres, laboratories, and the government, particularly in rural areas where expert systems are virtually non-existent.

The methods employed to carry out this study was an interview, a questionnaire, and a record review. Due to the problem of the old system, which is that patients waste a lot of time while in a queue, because reference or retrieval of information from old patients’ cases is often a problem, and the slow rate of releasing diagnosis reports, patients’ past records are subjected to the fear of rodents and termites attacks.

The new system will be capable of implementing a medical expert system on renal disorders that will provide gratis support to a patient without the need for a doctor’s diagnosis

as well as providing a system that is extremely effective, efficient, secure, and dependable. This design expects to provide the framework for the new system. The Visual Basic (V.B) programming language 6.0 version was utilised.
