DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A WEB-BASED RECRUITMENT SYSTEM FOR THE NIGERIA AIR-FORCE

CHAPTER 1.

INTRODUCTION
Recruitment, by definition, is the process of locating and hiring the best qualified individual (from within or outside of an organisation) for a good opportunity in a timely and efficient manner.

The recruitment process consists of analysing a job’s requirements, attracting candidates for that job, screening and selecting applications, hiring, and integrating the new employee into the organisation.

Recruitment is also defined as the process of attracting, selecting, and appointing qualified individuals to one or more positions inside an organisation, whether permanent or temporary.

Candidate can also refer to a prospective recipient of an award or honour, as well as a person seeking or being considered for a post.

The aim package is to provide a web-based recruiting system for Nigerian Air Force candidates that covers the primary features of employee or personnel information, activities, and record processing in every recruitment.

The web-based recruitment system will relieve personnel information processing of all time-consuming routine tasks while also ensuring that any information saved on it is not lost, errors, or blunders. These regions contain information on:

Checking the date of examination

1.2 Statement of the Problem

The main purpose of this web-based recruitment is to collect information that will be needed immediately or in the future for the processing of further tasks.

The design and implementation of a recruitment portal for the Nigeria Airforce is aimed at fully managing this information by creating an interactive, well-designed environment for data collection, saving, and well-structured methods of implementation to produce adequate results.

1.3 Justification for the Study.

The development of the online portal system has overtaken the current system, necessitating a new improvement to the mandatory. The new method will change how the online recruitment system operates. A web portal will be established, allowing users to make payments and do all other actions online.

1.4 Scope of the Project

This initiative is limited to the recruitment sector of the Nigerian Air Force.

1.5 Why is there a need for a recruitment portal?

(a) To eliminate the threat of ghost labour.

(b) To simply determine how many candidates apply for each recruitment.

(c) To eliminate the risk of the candidate’s life (i.e., travelling to the headquarters to receive and submit the form)

(d) Make the recruitment process easier and speedier.

1.6 Aims and Objectives

This project work is aimed at reducing the loss of candidate information due to any circumstance, such as a fire burning the store where the files of candidates are kept or misplacing the file, and with this process, the recruitment portal, the file or the information of the candidate will be secure on saved or kept information, and if this task is completed, the Nigeria Airforce will improve in the country.

The objectives are:

Designing a web-based recruitment system to improve candidate record processing and retention in their database.

Creating a web-based recruitment system to quickly update candidate information and minimise data loss.

Designing a Web-Based Recruitment System to improve recruitment accuracy and facilitate rapid information dissemination.

1.7 Research Methodology

In order to develop a system that would meet the needs of my case study, I needed to gather some information. The methods used to collect these facts include:

Interview: The management of the case study was questioned based on the problems with the candidate recruiting system and some temporary control measures implemented for tracking the menace.

Document Review: All documents used in candidate registration control processing were revewed in order to thoroughly evaluate the various record management systems employed in the candidate recruitment operation.

Internet: The internet, as a pool of information, was employed for the literature review documentation in order to add to the library of knowledge and critically analyse the process involves in the candidate recruitment activity.

1.8 Definition of Terms

INTERNET: The internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that employ the standard of internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to service various users throughout the world.

WEBSITE: A website is a collection of connected webpages hosted from the same web domain.

DESIGN: A task that is developed before creating a task.

INFORMATION: This is processed data. The act of informing or conveying knowledge and notification.

A database is a collection of data in a table. It is a regularly organised collection of computer data that may be automatically retrieved or changed.
