Abstract: Data Mining for a Medical Record System.
Data mining is the process of extracting hidden predictive information from a huge database in order to predict future trends and behaviour, allowing management to make knowledge-driven decisions.
The data mining tool was created to aid in the quick access and retrieval of patient information, reducing the time spent retrieving such data from the hospital’s data warehouse.
The data mining technology was also created to find hidden patterns that management can use to make decisions. Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology were utilised to analyse the current system, which also served as a reference for designing the new system.
The PHP programming language and my SQL were used to create a data warehouse for patient information, as well as a data mining tool for retrieving such information as needed.
