DEVELOPMENT FINANCING IN NIGERIA
Abstract
The main objective of the study is to discuss the role of Development Finance by Regulatory Agencies in
Nigeria namely Central Bank of Nigeria and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation of Nigeria. In the
Review of the related Literature, the topics handled are Development Banking in Nigeria, Nigerian
Industrial Development Bank, the Central Banking Era and Era of Banking Legislation and International
Finance Institutions. It is found that the hierarchy of a typical Finance Organisation starts with the
Board of Directors in charge of financial policy formulation and the Treasurer and Controller who are in
charge of Financial Policy Implementation. It is found that the difference between the World Bank and
IMF is that World Bank makes loans for both policy reforms and projects while IMF is concerned with
policies. It is also found that the system ‘s cybernetic model has five components: inputs, transform,
output, feedback and control.
