Abstract
This study examined effective communication as a technique for good management using Nestle Nigeria Plc as a case study. The study population consists of 200 Nestle Nig Plc employees. The researcher utilized questionnaires as the data gathering instrument. Using a descriptive survey research design, this study was conducted. The study utilized 133 respondents who were managers, administrative employees, senior staff, and junior staff. The acquired data were tabulated and evaluated using straightforward percentages and frequencies.

Introduction
Background of the study
Nestle Nig plc is run by men with demonstrated integrity in the management area. It is disheartening to learn that despite these efforts, the organization’s communication system has continued to deteriorate. In the words of EB flipo et al., communication acts as a lubricant that expedites the management process’s smooth operation. In contrast to the current state of company organization, which is defined by management directiveness and authoritarian behavior.
A suitable communication system ensures adaptability and provides management and subordinates with the opportunity to not only identify problems but also collaborate on the design of solutions. Individual differences may be responsible for the company’s communication problems.
This is a problem that arises from the company’s psychological climate, which tends to impede communication. Individuals are born with different potentials and must have had different experiences during their childhood and adolescence, and as adults, they have had employers and supervisors who have exerted a variety of influences on them. An organization may be permissive if employees are permitted to express themselves freely and are encouraged to participate in significant activities. In contrast to Nestle Nig Plc, another organization can be so authoritarian that individuals are required to express their opinions but are discouraged from partaking in participatory activities.
Mechanical inefficiency may also be to blame for the company’s dilemma. This advanced in the same way as they originate from a lack of proper communication facilities such as telex, telephone, telegram, and fax machines, etc. When any of the equipment used for receiving or transmitting urgent business information is malfunctioning, the proper flow of information is disrupted, which is detrimental to the organization. It is no exaggeration to say that the communication function is the means by which organized activity is unified. Communication may be devised as the means by which behaviours are modified, information is made productive, and organizational goals are attained. Whether we are discussing business or not, the movement of knowledge from one person to another is vital. As a binding agent, communication delivers information that assists both the smallest component and the overall organization in achieving its objectives.
Communication is essential for the internal function of any organization because it integrates the management function. Moreover, special communication is required to establish and disseminate goods to cultivate and motivate members of the organization to lead directly and create an environment in which people want to contribute. Communication also connects the firm to its external environment; through information exchange, divisional managers are aware of the quality of their products. In addition, communication allows an organization to communicate with its environment in an open system.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Inadequacy and distortion of information within Nestle Nig Plc have resulted in a number of undesirable outcomes, such as strike action, work to rule, sit done, or go slow, demonstrating an ineffective communication system. The inadequacy of the company’s communication method has resulted in significant financial loss. Vital information needing quick decision-making often arrives so late that a significant loss has already been incurred before the information is obtained. Delay in communication procedures has jeopardized the efficacy of management. Unfortunately, this has led to the spread of rumors, ineffective communication, general misunderstanding, and maybe low employee morale, as was the case with the aforementioned organization.
There are misunderstandings between management and different departments in the company, indicating an ineffective and uncoordinated communication system. This has led to incorrect speculations, a lack of confidence, unhealthy rumors, and even conflict between management and employees.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
This study will explore the significance of communication systems as effective management tools for Nestle Nigeria plc.
To emphasize the significance of communication in organizational management.
To expose the issue of inadequate information distortion within the organization.
3.To plan or create the answer to the company’s communication device shortage issues.
4 Reveal the problem of having unqualified personnel at critical spots in several printing company departments.
5 To elucidate the miscommunication between management and different departments as a result of the printing company’s infected and uncoordinated communication system.
RESEARCH HYPOTHESES
The researcher formulated the following research hypotheses for the successful completion of the study:
H0: communication plays no role in the management of any organization.
H1: communication is essential to the administration of every firm.
H02: there is no answer to the company’s communication device shortage issues.
H2: there is a solution to the company’s communication device deficiency.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study will be of tremendous assistance to Nestle Nig plc’s management and the business sector in general. It will also be of significant benefit to the management of government-owned organizations or businesses, as efficient communication facilitates public service and profit oriented. The cause and reason of communication problems in business organizations, as well as an understanding of the variables responsible for these problems, will allow business organizations to take the necessary actions and implement a good communication mechanism.
This research will also serve as a reference for the reorganization of the communication system in their various organizations. This study will also benefit professors who instruct students in business studies, as it will introduce them to various areas of communication.
The researcher’s coworkers will also benefit from the study because it will expand their knowledge and scope of communication comprehension. The study will increase knowledge of how communication affects the business world in no small measure.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The scope of this study encompasses efficient communication as a tool for successful management – a case study of Nestle Nigeria Plc. The researcher faces a constraint that restricts the study’s scope;
a) AVAILABILITY OF RESEARCH MATERIAL: The researcher has insufficient research material, consequently limiting the scope of the investigation.
b) TIME: The time allotted for the study does not allow for a broader scope because the researcher must mix it with other academic activities and examinations.
This is one of the reasons that contributed to the sample size chosen due to insufficient funds to support a larger sample.
1.7 DEFINITION OF TERMS
Communication is the process by which an organization or individual conveys information between two or more parties.
Management is the process of achieving organization objectives via the use of people and other organizational resources.
This refers to the process of getting timely information after information has been released.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Involves a translation of ideas or directions, command or guide, into oral or written words or actions on the part of the communicator in such a way as to transfer the ideas from the communicator’s mind to the mind of the receiver, with the expectation that the receiver will react in the manner intended by the communicator [Akinyemi, 1981]. Effective communication is the transmission of a message, followed by feedback from the recipient to the sender demonstrating comprehension [Bernard, 1938].
