EFFECTS OF TEAM EFFORTS ON THE REALIZATION OF ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS
ABSTRACT
The study focused on the effects of team efforts on the achievement of organisational goals. A case study of the Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC), Uyo.
The study sought to investigate the impact of team effort on the achievement of organisational goals, as well as to identify the prevalence of conditions that prevent teams from achieving organisational goals.
The random sampling approach was utilised to administrate the data, and the primary research instruments were a questionnaire for data collecting and a structured interview. The data was presented and analysed using descriptive statistical methods (mean and simple percentages).
The hypotheses are tested using the chi-square (X2) statistical approach. It was established that there is a strong link between teamwork and the achievement of organisational goals.
It was recommended, among other things, that team members collaborate in order for work to be completed, and that managers be aware of the impact of teams and their consequences on achieving organisational goals. Goals should also be emphasised, articulated clearly, and conveyed to all team members inside the organisation.
