EXAMINATION OF THE ROLE OF CO-OPERATIVE THRIFT AND CREDIT SOCIETIES

ABSTRACT
Agriculture has remained the primary economic driver in Nigeria since the government’s inception, and individual attention has been concentrated on greatly improving the sector’s adequacy.

In this prefecture, attempts have been undertaken to investigate the function of cooperative thrift and credit societies in the financing of agriculture in the country.

As a result of events beyond the researcher’s control, certain cooperative societies in Enugu state were chosen as case studies. To reach a meaningful and reliable conclusion, a sample of cooperative organisations in the state was selected and studied.

It is expected that the results of this study will be generalised to the entire country. The project is broken into five chapters to help with understanding and comprehension. The first chapter included an introduction to research. This chapter established the study’s purpose as well as a testable hypothesis.

Chapter two focused on the literature review, in which resources relevant to the study topic were thoroughly evaluated. Chapter 3 outlines the research strategy and methodology, including data sources and types, as well as presentation and analytic techniques.

The data acquired in chapter four were presented on a bar chart. The hypothesis was evaluated and analysed using the chi-square testing procedure. Relationships were formed using the Spearman’s rank order correction coefficient. The perfect was eventually finished in Chapter 5.
