INTRODUCTION

1:1 Background of the Study.

Drugs are regularly utilised by everyone, young or elderly. Drugs are beneficial to the health of both humans and animals. Humans administer medications to their animals when they are proven to be ill. A drug is a substance that can be used to treat illness and improve the health of any living being.

True, drugs are employed for beneficial medicinal purposes and are an effective substance for excellent health, but they are often abused by individuals, particularly adolescents. They utilise it illegally and criminally, making it damaging to the body.

Drug addiction among Nigerian youngsters has been viewed as morally corrupt. Drug addiction has tarnished the image of Nigerian youths and brought disgrace upon our society. Nigerian teenagers use drugs illegally, criminally, and intentionally (Vanguard, 2015).

Many of our youngsters rely on one or more drugs for daily activities, either unknowingly or knowingly. According to the figures supplied by the World Health Organisation (WHO), drugs include alcohol and smoke

have resulted in more traffic accidents and killed more people than any other disease known to man. As international drug trafficking grows in power, international cooperation against it weakens and becomes disorganised.
