FEASIBILITY STUDIES AND COOPERATIVE FORMATION INVESTMENT DRIVE.

INTRODUCTION
Background of the study.
The Nigerian economy has been in the doldrums for more than a decade. The ongoing economic downturn has highlighted the importance of doing feasibility studies before beginning on any new project.

The purpose of this study is to inform cooperation and the general public on the importance of a feasibility report in any business initiative, particularly a cooperative company venture.

The value of a well-prepared feasibility study in the coordinated information and investment push cannot be overstated. A well-prepared feasibility study can help you get a loan from a bank and attract additional investors.

Cooperative projects with good feasibility assessments are challenging to complete quickly. The impulse to invest can only occur when there is enough money or resources. Alternative technologies, production equipment, construction, and other capital are all necessary for each enterprise.

As each option is made, the next challenge is determining which of the several alternatives is the most viable. Against this background, the researcher wishes to pursue the research topic labelled “feasibility study and co-operative formation investment drive.” (A research on the utility of feasibility studies in the context of cooperative formation and investment motivation).

Statement of Problem

The relevance of feasibility studies in the development of cooperatives and investment drives cannot be overstated or underestimated. The failure of some co-operative business initiatives calls into question: were feasibility studies prepared, how good were the feasibility studies, were the provisions well implemented, what kind of people qualified, and so on.

Significance of the Study

This study will emphasise the importance of feasibility studies and cooperative formation investment drives.

This will be extremely beneficial to people looking to embark on new ventures.

It would also help to reduce business failure among cooperatives, as individuals will recognise the importance of doing feasibility studies throughout the co-operative formation/investment push.

Scope of the Study

Because the researcher is a student and does not have enough time and money to examine the entire topic, the researcher selected a few co-operative societies from which references can be made: Enugu East, Enugu South, Enugu North, and Enugu Central.

Limitations of the study

The availability of accurate and up-to-date information is difficult, and even those that are available face completely unnecessary barriers due to our sociocultural environment, bureaucracy, and underground motives.

The researcher also confronted financial and time constraints, as well as exorbitant, unreasonable, excessively high or high transportation costs and a significant level of danger associated with the database. This contributes to the researcher’s tiny sample size.

Chapter two.

Past project particle publications on comparable themes were investigated. In addition, books, newspapers, magazines, and periodicals were reviewed.

Chapter Three: Methodology

This chapter describes the processes and procedures utilised for data collecting and analysis.

Population in the study

This study’s target group consisted of 5302 randomly selected participants. Selected cooperative society members from Enugu South, Enugu East, Enugu North, and Enugu Central. The sample size was calculated using the Yarmane model (1964:240), with a sample size of 193.

The research was conducted using a questionnaire and interviews.

Procedures for conducting research

If I am asked to carry out this study, I will provide full details about the procedure or process I utilised to conduct the research.
Treatment of data

The data were treated using a basic percentage analysis and a hypothesis test.
