FIVE STAR HOTEL
ABSTRACT
This project concept sprang from my ambition to complete an extensive, hard, yet gratifying thesis project, as Enugu state currently lacks a five-star hotel. Governor Sullivan’s emergency as executive is another catalyst for the project.
From 2007 to the present, his government has given the state a face and an influx of personnel for both business and state affairs, thereby resolving the issue of insufficient hotel accommodations, highlighting the state’s potential, and providing an international business connection centre for both local and foreign businessmen.
This project topic will meet the following objectives: assessing the development of the hotel industry in Enugu state in particular and Nigeria in general, determining the socioeconomic implications of hotel development in Enugu state, catering for national and international guests in their diversity of needs, food, lodging service, and recreation, and attempting to project Enugu state’s rich cultural heritage.
To attain these goals, I had to follow suitable research processes, which mostly involved the application of deductive analysis. Some of the techniques include site/field visits, semi-standardized interviews, literature reviews, questionnaires, face-to-face interviews, and consultations with textbooks, journals, and internet resources. However, make diligent use of the collected. Despite the time constraints, the researcher was able to finish his study.

1.0 Background of Study
STATEMENT OF ARCHITECTURAL PROBLEM.
A hotel can be considered to have two faces. The paying consumer sees only the “front of the complex,” which must be all he wants–a wish fulfilled, an ego blinder, a status symbol, and the promise of immense delight.
The “back of the hotel complex” is where everything happens. These include kitchens, retail, and service areas. This space must be designed around two primary goals: control and efficiency. Control is vital because pilfering is a genuine risk, and inefficiency wastes time and reduces output.
When a guest walks into the hotel lobby, he should be overwhelmed by a sense of calm, enchantment, or repulsion, but never confusion. The registration counter, for example, and the lifts should be clearly visible.
The main administrative area typically backs up to the desk. Restaurants, bars, and other such spaces should be visible from or well marked in the lobby area.
I.The utilisation of the site configuration and attributes in the positioning of facilities.
Circulation (both vertical and horizontal) I.e. the issue caused by the various directional movements.
iii. The architecture of the proposed hotel complex should be appealing. The design elements must inspire and elicit emotions from the guests.
The right grouping and organisation of functions across the entire site to reduce obtrusive noise.
Provide ample parking for both staff and other users.
1.2 AIM OF THE PROJECT
The purpose of this project is to create a design proposal for a five-star hotel development in Emene, Enugu State. Also, to entice foreign and local investors to establish part of their businesses in the state capital (Enugu) and Nigeria as a whole.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The research will pursue the following objectives:
Evaluating the growth of the hotel business in Enugu state, and Nigeria in general.
Determining the socioeconomic ramifications of hotel development in Enugu state.
Designing a hotel that can respond to the diverse needs of national and foreign guests, including food, housing, services, and amusement.
It should be able to accommodate meetings, exhibits, seminars, linkages, and business transactions while matching the internationally accepted level for five-star hotels to the greatest extent possible.
It should try to project the rich cultural heritage of Enugu state, specifically, and Nigeria in general.
It should address the issue of insufficient accommodation supply, as newly established state capitals are becoming increasingly short on hotel services.
