FORMATION AND REGISTRATION OF A CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES
ABSTRACT
This research project is critical for the establishment of cooperative societies in Enugu city. The history of cooperatives focuses on people working together or jointly.
The initiative will emphasise the need of forming a cooperative society as well as how cooperative societies are registered in Enugu state. The research objective will highlight the stages required to organise co-operative organisations, the registration conditions, and the economic benefits of registration.
To address the research challenge, both primary and secondary data were gathered. Related books were also studied for suggestions that could contribute to the project’s design.
Questionnaires and oral interviews were utilised to collect data from respondents, who included staff from the Enugu state co-operative on Opara Avenue and members of registered co-operative societies in Enugu state.
Table frequency and percentages were utilised to organise and understand the acquired data. At the conclusion of this study, the many research questions were addressed using basic data tabulation.
This project activity has the following objectives: to discover out
1. Member engagement and acceptability in the cooperative society.
2. Primary and secondary school membership numbers.
3. The stages involved in founding a cooperative society.
Finally, appropriate recommendations have been made to assist both the co-operative society in Enugu metropolis and members of the public in understanding the importance of joining co-operative societies.
