ABSTRACT
The root of Enantia chlorontha was tested for its hepatotoxicity. The root extracts were produced with 95% ethanol. The root extracts were given orally to 15 wistar albino rats in varied dosages. Five rats were kept as a control group. The effect of the extracts was assessed by measuring serum-liver enzyme levels, which operate as biochemical producers. Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Alanine aminiotransferase (ALT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) were among the liver enzymes tested. A comparison of the enzyme levels of the control group to those of the group given the rot extract revealed a significant increase in liver enzyme levels (P).
