ABSTRACT
With a focus on MB White Company in Australia, this study investigated the human relations skills needed by graduates of office technology and management programs in corporate organisations. The study delves into the different types of interpersonal skills needed in a corporate setting. Graduates of office technology and management programs are also surveyed to determine the effect that interpersonal skills have on their careers in the corporate world. The study delves deeper into the difficulties that recent grads in office technology and management have when it comes to possessing interpersonal skills. The research concludes with suggestions for how recent grads in office technology and management might better navigate interpersonal dynamics on the job. Thirty responses were confirmed by the survey. The results showed that the different human relations abilities needed in a corporate setting include being attentive to employees’ unique needs, providing constructive criticism, and being ready to delegate authority to lower-level staff. Graduates in office technology and management who have developed strong interpersonal skills are more likely to be satisfied with their jobs, perform well as a team, and stay with their current employers. Emerging cyber security risks, digital transformation, and outsourcing are also some of the difficulties faced by recent graduates in office technology and management. Finally, having a happy attitude, controlling your emotions, and practicing active listening are some of the suggested techniques to improve office technology and management’s human relations abilities. Accordingly, the study suggests that recent college grads in business administration and office technology should familiarise themselves with the concept of good human relations by participating in relevant seminars, conferences, and workshops. Furthermore, OTM graduate personnel should be equipped with the necessary abilities for their jobs by emphasising human relations and communication skills at various training levels, including pre-service and in-service training. Finally, in order for OTM grads to be successful and efficient in today’s office operations, they should make it a habit to read journals, go to seminars and workshops, and generally build on their abilities.
