ABSTRACT
This study investigated the impact of cashless society on the emotional value and meaning of money, with a focus on the Nigerian economy. The primary goal of the study was to investigate how cashless policies affect the Nigerian economy. Primary data sources were used, which included the delivery of questionnaires developed in a likert scale manner. The study used a survey research approach, and the data collected was analysed using percentages and t-tests with SPSS. The study discovered a substantial association between the values of cash transfers from Automated Teller Machines and Gross Domestic Product, as well as the value of points of sale. It was advised that more automated teller machines be installed across the country, notably in Bida, Niger State. This will raise the gross domestic product, and the cost of transacting with point-of-sale terminals should be cut in order to encourage e-banking policies and therefore increase the GDP.
