ABSTRACT

There is a significant impact on student performance when they are advised and counselled, hence this study was designed to evaluate the impact of Guidance and Counselling on student academic achievement.

Because of the numerous challenges that students face, and some of which guidance and counselling have assisted in resolving, the researcher established an objective to determine the extent to which the provision of guidance and counselling materials, socio-cultural factors, and teacher-student relationships has aided students’ academic performance.

The research was conducted using surveys, reviews, and documents to collect data. The case study was conducted at Emmanuel College in Odeda, Ogun State, with teachers and students serving as the sample.

The analytical results demonstrate that there is a significant impact on student performance when advice and counselling are effective in the school they attend.
