ABSTRACT
This research work empirically studied the impact of viral epidemic on financial sector a case study of corona virus sickness. The aims of this study were to analyse the level of coronavirus disease in Nigeria, investigate the impact of coronavirus disease on finance in Nigeria.
The scope of the study is Nigeria stock exchange. The infectious illness transmission mechanism theory was employed as a framework. The research design utilised for this study is survey
the population targeted for this study includes of all Nigeria stock exchange participant across the country. 400 persons were employed as sample size and cluster sampling approach was applied.
Instrument utilised for this investigation is the questionnaire. Data acquired were collected from primary sources. From the study of the data, the findings shows that the level of coronavirus disease in Nigeria as compared to other countries is average, coronavirus disease has effect on the level financial sector in Nigeria.
Following the findings, it was proposed that methods should be designed to stop the spread of the virus and vaccination created so as to prevent further reliance on finances, government/individuals should devise a mechanism to maintain participation of financial activities. The study concludes that coronavirus illness has a negative influence on the financial industry.
