Impact Of Infectious Epidemic On Internally Displaced Person

ABSTRACT

This study investigated the impact of an infectious epidemic on internally displaced persons in Nigeria, using coronavirus illness as a case study. The goals of this study were to assess the prevalence of coronavirus disease in Nigeria and to analyse the influence of coronavirus disease on the poverty line of internally displaced people in Nigeria.

The study’s focus is on internally displaced persons in Nigeria, and the infectious disease transmission mechanism theory serves as a framework. The research design employed in this study is a survey, and the population addressed is all internally displaced persons camps across the country.

The sample size was 400 internally displaced persons, and the cluster sampling technique was used. This study’s instrument is a questionnaire. Data were acquired from original sources.

According to the data analysis, the level of coronavirus disease in Nigeria is average when compared to other nations, and coronavirus sickness has an impact on the poverty level of Nigeria’s internally displaced population.

Following the findings, it was recommended that steps be developed to control the virus’s spread and that a vaccination be developed to prevent further increases in the poverty line of internally displaced people. The study concludes that coronavirus illness affects internally displaced persons.
