ABSTRACT
This study investigated the empirical impact of an infectious epidemic on Nigerian manufacturing businesses, using coronavirus illness as a case study. The goals of this study were to determine the prevalence of coronavirus disease in Nigeria and the impact of coronavirus disease on Nigerian manufacturing activity.
The study’s scope is manufacturing companies in Nigeria, and the infectious illness transmission mechanism theory serves as a framework. This study’s research design is a survey, and the demographic targeted is all of the country’s manufacturing businesses.
The sample size was set at 20 manufacturing enterprises, and the cluster sampling technique was used. This study’s instrument is a questionnaire. Data were acquired from original sources.
According to the data analysis, the degree of coronavirus disease in Nigeria is average when compared to other nations, and coronavirus sickness has an impact on Nigeria’s industrial activity.
Following the findings, it was advised that steps be developed to combat the virus’s spread that a vaccine be developed in order to avoid future reliance on the country’s manufacturing activity. The study shows that coronavirus illness has a detrimental impact on the manufacturing sector.
