IMPACT OF INFECTIOUS EPIDEMIC ON PETROLEUM PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

This study investigated the influence of an infectious pandemic on petroleum output using a case study of coronavirus illness. The goals of this study were to analyse the prevalence of coronavirus disease in Nigeria and to investigate the impact of coronavirus disease on the level of petroleum production activity in Nigeria.

The study focused on oil multinational firms in Nigeria, and the infectious illness transmission mechanism idea served as a framework. The research design employed for this study is a survey, and the demographic targeted for this study includes all oil multinational corporations from oil-producing regions.

The sample size was 400 employees from international oil corporations, and the cluster sampling technique was used. This study’s instrument is a questionnaire. Data were acquired from original sources.

According to the data analysis, the level of coronavirus disease in Nigeria is average when compared to other nations, and coronavirus sickness has an impact on Nigeria’s petroleum production level.

Following the findings, it was suggested that measures be developed to slow the spread of the virus, as well as a vaccination, to avoid future reliance on the smooth running of petroleum production. The researchers find that coronavirus illness has a negative impact on petroleum output.
