It is hoped that by addressing all of these issues, improvements will be made to indigenous language in broadcast media. The quantitative research design was used, with a cross-sectional survey method and a questionnaire as the data collection instrument.
One hundred (100) questionnaires were distributed among the OSBC Radio Ile-Awiye Oke-Baale Osogbo staff, resulting in a high rate of return. The study’s findings revealed that indigenous languages play an important role in broadcast media.
According to the findings of this study, the use of indigenous languages in broadcast media has assisted the audience in learning about the various languages in the society. It is therefore recommended that, in order to improve the level of quality programming in the electronic media, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and (OSBC) management allow all current decent programs dealing with people’s culture and norms, but this would gain OSBC Radio, Ile-Awiye Oke-Baale more listenership power.
