Abstract
The ongoing evolution of digital media, as well as the communication and information access opportunities they provide, highlights the importance of developing citizens’ effective, responsible, and critical behavior not only as consumers, but also as communicators and media message producers.
This article examines the challenges that digital media pose to young people’s education, emphasizes the importance of broad reflection on the concept and goals of media literacy, and suggests possible lines of action.
