Abstract: Mobile-based Java tutorial and certification system.
This project centres on an Android-enabled Java teaching and certification system for the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) in Owerri, Imo State.
The existing teaching and learning process is done manually, which slows down and discourages learning. The system is intended to automate the laborious process of determining this issue.
Structural Analysis and Design approach is the research approach used to collect information for software development. Problems were detected through a series of interviews and document exams, followed by analysis and a computerised procedure.
The importance of software to ICT development is that it allows a large number of IT students and others who want to learn and obtain a certificate in the Java programming language but are unable to do so due to time constraints or distance to do so online.
The system is constructed utilising a three-tier approach, with Android XML serving as the front tier, JAVA as the middle tier, and SQLite Database as the back-end tier. These languages were chosen due of their simple syntax and capabilities for producing mobile applications.
