ABSTRACT

This research project investigates the positive impact of consumer cooperatives on the economy, using a case study of a consumer cooperative in Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.

The ultimate goal of this research is to critically investigate the concept and good impact that consumer cooperatives play in quickly revitalising the Nigerian economy in Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State.

A survey research was employed for this study, and the questioners were analysed and converted to government areas because of the unjust pricing charges imposed by middlemen, which were out of reach for low-income workers.

However, the numerous consumer cooperative organisations in Owerri West arose as a result of promoting product quality improvement and actual price. Furthermore, because of the aforementioned inconsistency, they sought a solution to enhance their level of living.
