INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Human resource management is the role of a business that ensures that people are used effectively to fulfil both the enterprise’s goals and the pleasure and development of its employees.

Any organization’s survival is dependent on the appropriate management of its material, financial, and human resources.

All of these human resources are managed by predetermined individuals. Human resource management, in conjunction with other resources, allows a firm or organisation to run efficiently.

The most essential of these is man; people are crucial aspects on which an organization’s activities is focused. The man’s productivity is determined by how well he feels about an organisation. As a result, any organization’s first concern should be human satisfaction.

An organisation may produce or render services in the same company with the same resources engaged or utilised, yet productivity may differ as a result of effective human resource management.

The importance of human resource management in relation to organisational productivity cannot be overstated because it is the lifeblood and soul or heartbeat of every organisation.

In any organisation, resources are divided into two categories: human and material resources. Of these resources, the most difficult to manage is the human resource, regardless of the product or service provided or the size, age, or location of the organisation.

To remain viable, it must acquire human resources. Furthermore, if the organisation is to continue, it must devise programmes to fully develop its people resources and ensure ongoing worker commitment.

Human resource management, as it is practised now, recognised the dynamic and interaction of human functions with one another and with organisational objectives.

Most importantly, it recognises the importance of closely coordinating human resource planning with organisational strategies and related planning processes.

As a result, efforts in human resource management are being oriented towards assisting government organisations in achieving profit. Human resource planning is certainly more than simply numbers.

Training, redeployment, promotion, and productivity plans all emphasise the significance of having three right people in the right jobs in the right numbers. Personal or human resources to increase production.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In most of our organisations today, worker productivity is substantially below expectations, and many businesses incur significant losses as a result of wastage induced by management.

Workers are unable to do their respective jobs successfully in order to increase productivity. Another issue that the industry has is a lack of proper training and development programmes.

This results in job discontent because most employees do not find it simple to complete the job assigned to them because they lack the requisite skills and talent to handle construction jobs successfully.

Another diverging issue is the increased rate of labour turnover in the business as a result of workers’ incapacity to satisfy and complete construction tasks assigned to them on time. Another issue is the building industry’s lack of a sufficient and skilled human resource department capable of increasing productivity.

The aforementioned issues have nothing to offer the sector other than a drop in service delivery, which in turn affects total productivity enhancement. The only or one of the major solutions to these problems is for the industry to embark on adequate training and development programmes,

as well as to establish adequate and proper human resource management departments to assist in selecting the appropriate workers who will embark the industry on a path of increased productivity and quality construction work.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

To investigate the prospects for human resource management in increasing productivity.

To determine how effective human resource management might boost production.

To investigate the extent to which human resource management has influenced employee performance.

To determine whether successful human resource management has influenced the company’s aims and objectives.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

Given the importance of the study, you will see that all organisations, whether governmental or non-governmental, profit or non-profit, cannot ignore the importance of effective and efficient human resource utilisation.

The study is extremely beneficial to managers, personal and human resource officers of Sintax construction industries policies, and it examines personnel policies, on recruiting, selection, placement, training, and development.

Similarly, I emphasised the importance of strong human resource management in Sintax Construction Company, which strived for total customer satisfaction while increasing productivity.

Because it aims to ascertain in areas of human resource management in Nigeria, the study is also significant to academics, industry, and society at large.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The study’s main focus is on the prospects of human resource management in an industry or organisation and how it improves productivity in the Sintax Construction business. A study of this sort may have been far more developed to cover practically all of the Sintax branches throughout the country.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

Due to financial constraints, the researcher decided to limit the research work to the Kaduna head office. Other issues include a lack of adequate information because most of their information is not stored in the computer, but is only filed manually, which can easily be damaged or lost in the event of any inconsistencies.
