ABSTRACT
This study focused on the proximate and quantitative investigation of soursop (Annona moricata) fruit. Before being used for analysis, the ripe fruit was harvested, sun-dried, and powdered into a powdery consistency. The results demonstrate that crude fibre contains 6.3% crude protein, 2.8% ash, and 0.1% crude fat. The qualitative phytochemical composition of soursop pulp reveals an abundance of bioactive components such as tannin and flavonoid, a moderate presence of reducing sugar, terpenoid, and glycoside, and a minute amount of saponin and alkaloid. These bioactive chemicals have been identified as biologically significant due to their impact on a variety of physiological functions in the body, including cancer cell proliferation suppression, detoxification, and oxidative activity. The results support the nutritional and therapeutic value of soursop fruit.
