ROLE OF WOMEN IN CO-OPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT

ABSTRACT
The study looked at how women contribute to cooperative development in Imo State’s Mbaitoli Local Government Areas. The study’s population consisted of women from the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

A random sample of 200 women was collected from ten towns in the Mbaitoli local government area. The data was collected using an ARUCDQ instrument built by the researcher. The researcher administered and collected the instrument by hand.

The findings found that women in the Mbaitoli local government area were forming and belonging to a large number of cooperative organisations that operated in various fields of human endeavour.

In light of this, my proposal was to identify the role of women in cooperative development in Imo State’s Mbaitoli Local Government Area. The study is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the role of women in exploring many potentials for cooperative growth.

This desire has been stifled and hindered by harsh, discriminatory conventions and irritating traditions in many civilizations.

According to the recommendations, women are constrained and restricted to unpaid services by performing household duties that are accounted for to contribute to cooperative development in the economy.
