ABSTRACT
This research aimed to determine the extent to which staff at Nigeria Bottling Company PLC (N.B.C), Benin City, communicate successfully.
The questionnaire method was employed to collect data from 70 respondents, of whom 55 were utilized for data analysis. The investigation revealed that efficient communication plays a significant role in the attitude and conduct of Nigerian Bottling Company PLC personnel. Also discovered was the idea that organizational structure facilitates good communication, which in turn facilitates effective human resource management.
In addition, the study revealed that human qualities impede the free flow of information, hence hindering efficient communication. Furthermore, it was discovered that the authoritarian communication style hinders successful communication.
On the basis of the findings of the research, it was advised that the management of Nigerian Bottling Company strengthen the company’s communication system in order to increase communication comprehension and effectiveness. It is also advised that there be mutual understanding and cooperation between superiors and subordinates, since this will facilitate the horizontal flow of information up and down the organizational hierarchy.

INTRODUCTION
1.1. CONTEXT OF THE STUDY
Communication is virtual at all times and every day. It is the foundation for creating state systems. As a result of the advancement of the communication system, the globe has indeed become a global village, as is widely acknowledged. Consequently, the importance of an efficient communication system in human society cannot be ignored.
Focusing on the structure of an organization, we find that efficient communication is the foundation for effective resource management, including human, raw material, financial, and technological resources. Managers and other staff in the organization should be trained in the process of efficient communication in order to overcome the devastation and improve the well-being of any firm based on how it is managed. 1.1THE FIRST POINT OF COMMUNICATION The term communication derives from the Latin phrase communi-care. “Communi” means “community” (a group) and “care” implies “to give a dam” in contemporary usage. Communication is a multi-meaning word that has varied meanings depending on who uses it. For example, to a geographer it has one meaning, but to an electrical engineer it has another. However, for the business student, communication retains its significance. It refers to the process through which information is transmitted between individuals and/or organizations through the use of predetermined symbols. Communication is the unifying element in every personal culture and the main force in each of our individual lives.
1.2 DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM
Management analysts and academics appear to concur that organizations do not exist in a vacuum, but rather in an environment comprised of multiple publics, and that for effectiveness, smoothness, business, and success, it is essential to establish, maintain, and promote a cooperative and productive relationship with customers, employees, the government, present and potential customers, and the entire society. In recognition of this, one attempts to eliminate the variables that impede communication between top management supervisors and lower level management during the communication process. Furthermore, many members of an organization are aware that they communicate, but do not understand what communication is. The aim of communication is constantly unknown to the majority of lower-level employees in a business. This also applies to people at the light level, particularly those who were promoted to a higher position. The breakdown of communication as a result of the variables that impede its effectiveness is one of the most significant challenges managers face. It should be remembered that communication difficulties are frequently symptoms with deep roots. For instance, poor decision-making is one of the causes of any organization’s direction ambiguity. A poorly constructed organization structure may fail to effectively express organizational relationships. In order to facilitate efficient communication in any firm, the ambiguous standards that typically leave employees unsure of what is expected of them must be demonstrated. Informational distortion is another issue encountered in the communication process. In some instances, information is intentionally manipulated by the person handling it. Some distortions are the result of purposeful efforts by individuals or groups to advance strictly personal interests and pursue organizational objectives that differ from those stipulated by top management. Given that effective communication is designed to alter the management style of Nigeria Bottling Company Plc, this statement is true (NBC). The purpose of the study is to determine to what extent obstacles impede efficient communication and whether or not workers in the organization communicate successfully.
1.3 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The purpose and objectives of this study are to collect information from the employees of Nigeria Bottling Company (NBC), Benin City, regarding the effectiveness of their internal communication.
In addition, taking into consideration hinders the efficient communication procedures and tactics that employees require to affect their attitude and performance within the firm. Even though they spend the majority of their time communicating, there is overwhelming evidence that they are not particularly good at it. As a result, the importance of organizational communication has been emphasized on the grounds that communication is not a secondary or auxiliary role, but rather the essence of all organized action. The purpose of this study is to determine how well Nigerian Bottling Company PLC employees communicate. This study will concentrate on evaluating the many communication channels available to an organization. Identify the obstacles that contribute to the ineffectiveness of the communication process between superiors and subordinates; and, as a conclusion, provide solutions for improving effective communication in human resources (employees).
1.4 RELEVANCE OF THE RESEARCH
Without the means, capacity, and will to communicate, business, government, and community activities as we know them could not exist. However, it is not sufficient for people to be able to converse with others; they must also understand how to do it. In the distribution of information inside an organization, the effectiveness of communication is a significant component of the overall management adaption scheme. It will also provide a system analyst with information on how to construct an information system, and those in supervisory roles will benefit from understanding the communication flow inside an organization. This will assist in addressing the issue of bureaucracy in organizations. Most upper-level management and supervisors will find far-reaching answers to their communication and breakdown-related difficulties. Students and workers pursuing careers in business and other relevant fields will find this study interesting.
1.5 SCOPE OF THE EXAMINATION
Benin City’s Nigeria Bottling Company PLC (NBC) will be surveyed at all levels of its workforce in an effort to acquire accurate and meaningful data. The effectiveness of workers’ communication in the workplace, particularly in response to opportunities and risks arising from the corporate environment, will be examined critically in order to determine whether successful communication influences the attitude and behavior of workers.
1.6 STRUCTURAL ASPECTS OF THE STUDY
Five chapters are used to structure the research. The first chapter, which is the introduction, has the following sections: introduction, origin of communication, statement of problem, aims and objectives of the study, significance of study, scope of investigation, and constraints. The second chapter examines relevant and existing literature on communication, the communication process, variables that inhibit relevance, communication types, methodologies, stages to effective communication, communication hurdles, and communication networks. In Chapter 3, the data collection process and analysis methodologies will be discussed. In Chapter four, the data obtained for the study will be analyzed, and the hypothesis expressed in Chapter three will be tested in the course of the analysis. The fifth chapter will feature the study’s conclusions and recommendation.
