THE ACCEPTABILITY OF USING LOCAL TATTOO “LALLI” IN NIKAH CEREMONY AMONG MUSLIM IN ABEOKUTA
ABSTRACT
This project research was done to investigate the acceptability of using local tattoo “Lalli” in Nikah Ceremony amongst Muslim women within Lafenwa, Abeokuta North of Ogun State. One hundred (100) questionnaires containing Twenty 20 questions were designed purposely to obtain information. Muslim women within Lafenwa, Abeokuta North Area of Ogun were randomly selected and questioned. The questionnaire were meant to find out the acceptability of using Local tattoo “Lalli” in Nikah Ceremony amongst Muslim women in Lafenwa, Abeokuta North Area of Ogun State. Data gathered were analyses and the results of the finding revealed (i) that most Muslim women enjoy being beautified with Local tattoo using Lalli during Nikah Ceremoy (ii) And also loved it as a part of old Yoruba culture which should be protected. Recommendations were made that Local tattoo using Lalli amongst women generally to bring out our culture and protect our tradition and custom.
