THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON NIGERIAN EDUCATION
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of covid-19 on education in Nigeria. The following objectives guided this study: to assess Covid-19 virus awareness among Nigerian students, to investigate the impact of Covid-19 on education in Nigeria, and to assess the aftereffects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Nigerian education system.
The descriptive and explanatory design was used in the study, and data was collected using questionnaires as well as library research. Data was analyzed using the chi square statistical tool at a 5% level of significance and presented in frequency tables and percentages using primary and secondary data sources.
The study’s participants were 100 teachers and students from various secondary schools in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. The study findings revealed that the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on education in Nigeria; based on the study findings, schools require resources to rebuild the loss in learning that occurred during the pandemic.
