ABSTRACT

In the course of this research project, an empirical investigation into the influence of infectious epidemics on service provision was carried out using the Corona virus as a case study. This research was conducted with the goals of assessing the prevalence of coronavirus disease in Nigeria and determining the effect that this prevalence has had on the quality of medical care provided in that country. The investigation will cover all service providers in Nigeria, and the infectious disease transmission mechanism theory will serve as a guiding principle throughout the process. A survey is the method of research that was used for this study, and the population that was targeted for this study is comprised of all service providers across the country. The sample size was determined to be 400 different service providers, and the cluster sampling technique was used. The questionnaire is the instrument that was utilized for this study. The data obtained came from first-hand accounts and observations. According to the conclusions that were derived from the analysis of the data, the incidence of coronavirus disease in Nigeria is comparable to that in other countries; nonetheless, the disease does have an impact on the quality of service that is provided in Nigeria. As a result of the findings, it was suggested that strategies should be developed to avoid the further spread of the virus, and a vaccination should be developed so as to eliminate the need for any additional hinge on service-related activities. According to the findings of the study, coronavirus illness has a detrimental impact on the delivery of services.
