ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to determine the influence of lighting resources in Chinua Achebe Arts Theatre on the production of Moremi. Objectives of the study includes; highlighting the functions and importance of stage lighting in play productions,, review the problems/challenges faced by light technicians in setting up adequate stage lighting in Chinua Achebe Arts Theatre, examine the effects of declined lighting, review the cost of acquiring stage lighting equipments. Findings from the study included; declined lighting equipment, inadequate equipments in the theatre, poor management, lack of funds, to procure lighting equipments/instruments, lack of funds to procure lighting equipments negligence of the theatre by the university management etc. The following recommendations were made, the university should provide the theatre with an adequate and reliable generator power plant, the university should provide funds to procure lighting equipments/instruments, the theatre administrator should adopt a good maintenance culture to effectively manage the theatre etc.
