The Influence Of Organizational Climate And Teachers Job Satisfaction On The Teachers Job Performance In Secondary Schools

ABSTRACT

The study was founded on the need to present empirical information regarding the impact of organisational climate and teacher job satisfaction on teacher job performance in Imo state. This was due to the necessity to determine how the organization’s climate and teachers’ work satisfaction affect their job performance.

To drive the study, five research questions were developed, and four null hypotheses were examined at the 0.01 and 0.05 levels of significance. The study’s literature was also received within the conception framework, theoretical framework, empirical framework, and literature review summary.

According to the literature, organisational climate and teacher job satisfaction, as well as their influences on teacher job performance, are areas that have received little attention. As a result, it is necessary to fill this gap by conducting a study on the influence of school organisational climate and teacher job satisfaction on teacher performance.

The study was conducted in Abia State. The study used the descriptive research survey design. The study’s sample size was 480, consisting of 30 principals and 450 teachers drawn from the sampled 30 schools. One principal and fifteen instructors were chosen from each of the thirty schools chosen for the study.

Three researchers from the Department of Educational Administration and Measurement and Evaluation validated the instrument. The instrument’s reliability was 0.83, determined using the test-retest procedure and the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC) statistic.

The data gathering procedure involved distributing 480 research questionnaires to the 480 respondents, as well as using a 450-item job performance check list to obtain teacher performance from their principals.

The mean and standard deviations were utilised to answer the study questions 1, 2, 4, and 5, while percentage and frequency were analysed.

Research Question The results of the analysed data revealed that there was a significant positive correlation between the organisational climate and the teacher’s job performance, as well as a significant positive correlation between the organisational climate and the teacher’s job performance, and a significant positive correlation between the teacher’s job satisfaction and their job performance. Similarly, the data demonstrated that the teacher’s job performance is predicted by both organisational climate and job satisfaction.
