THE ROLE OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN REVAMPING THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY

ABSTRACT

This project focusses on the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in revitalising Nigeria’s economy. Small and medium-sized businesses are critical components in creating a stable foundation for a country’s economic development; nonetheless, these businesses have faced numerous challenges as a result of government policies and funding opportunities. The first chapter of this study paper discusses the subject’s background and defines small and medium-sized firms before presenting a very obvious progression. Chapter two also discusses the meaning and definition of small and medium-sized enterprises, including their role in producing goods and services for both end and intermediate users, as well as utilising low capital costs to create jobs, particularly in the economy’s previously growing service sector. It also emphasises how these businesses contribute to the Nigerian economy. The third chapter of the research work discusses the methodology and design, as well as the population and population simple. It also discusses the data gathering and analysis methods utilised in the research. Chapter four focusses on data presentation and analysis, as well as a test that only covers comments, recommendations, conclusions, and suggestions for further research.
