ABSTRACT
Without further ado, the topic of cooperative insurance liability in Nigeria foreshadows the gross nature of its numerous facts. The topic is more or less open as most people would like, but the researchers felt it was appropriate to confine the study to the first Enugu international cooperative insurance for the sake of simplicity.
The project seeks to investigate the feasibility (and thus practicability) of cooperative insurance in Nigeria by attempting to establish the workability of the regulatory requirements that cooperative insurance enterprises must achieve before being registered.
Similarly, the problem of competition in the insurance sector is examined, particularly as it relates to the industry’s major players.
The role of government intervention in cooperative insurance is examined with the goal of offering solutions to achieve the desired results. The cooperative and insurance principle dispute was attempted to be resolved with a goal to marrying them and channelling them into these exercises
which sought the views of a cross section of respondents who were knowledgeable about the matter. Their points of view are presented chronologically, with the intention that everyone who reads through them will gain a better understanding of the concept of cooperative insurance.
