ABSTRACT

This project provides a summary of the full research study, which was meant to determine the best course of action for the treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases in Egor Local Government Area, Edo State.

This study included respondents from secondary schools, tertiary institutions, civil servants, and traders. Topics covered included mode of transmission, factors predisposing youths to STDs, symptoms, treatment, diagnosis, prognosis, and preventive measures for sexually transmitted diseases, as well as control and eradication efforts.

The questionnaire served as the research instrument: A total of 343 questionnaires were distributed to respondents. Data analysis from the questionnaires revealed that abstinence from sex and faithfulness to one partner is the best prevention from STD.

Various recommendations were made, including the incorporation of sex, faithfulness to one partner, abstinence, and parental guidance for youths.
