ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the significance of housing to man as an important necessity and a requirement for survival after food. It also recognises the tremendous impact it has on the health, behaviour, and efficiency of individuals and the country as a whole. The investigation was conducted via questionnaire administration, building and facility surveys.

Using a random selection technique, every fifth residence in the five district areas was chosen for interviews. Furthermore, statistics were gathered from relevant government ministries and agencies to determine the government’s involvement in this sector.

The study’s findings show that the region chosen for the study is in a slum condition, which has an undeniable impact on the people’ socioeconomic lifestyles and health, as well as the overall outlook of the environment. Recommendations were made to aid policymakers in improving the lives of the citizens of the area.

Some of these include enhancing the program through the provision of urban basic amenities and enhanced sanitation measures for sustainable management of the area.

A public education effort is also recommended so that inhabitants understand the necessity of excellent living conditions for their health, as well as the dangers of abusing their surroundings. Housing Condition
