ABSTRACT
This study is named “cooperative society and economic development” in Enugu state. The researcher conducted a case study on the Udi local government district.
The first chapter covers the introduction and historical backdrop of the study, as well as the statement of the difficulties, the purpose of the investigation, the research question, the research hypothesis, the significance of the study, and the scope and constraints of the study.
Chapter two deals with the review of previous related material, with the following sub-headings being discussed: Cooperative societies provide significant contributions to education, rural development, and performance in Nigeria.
Chapter three discusses the research design and methodology, area of study, population sample, and sampling procedure, as well as data sources such as oral interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Secondary data includes the use of previous research textbooks and project writing.
Chapter five discusses the findings, recommendations, and conclusions.
The findings revealed that cooperatives are performing quite well in the Udi local government region by giving jobs, marketing products, and the recommendations include:
Periodically imposed a joint educational course for the member.
Closely monitoring the cooperative’s actions. In conclusion, cooperatives have been able to grow sectors such as providing jobs for individuals and providing vital items to members.
Based on their findings, the researcher gave several recommendations. To increase the financial base of Udi cooperative organisations, the government should provide loans and special grants.
An education department should be established in the Divisional Council.
Based on the findings, the researcher reached a conclusion. That cooperative in Udi assists its members economically by offering loans to members, and cooperative societies perform reasonably well in terms of business transactions.
