Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between foreign direct investment and poverty reduction in Nigeria, determining whether foreign direct investment has a significant long-run impact on poverty reduction in Nigeria and whether there are any significant casualties associated with foreign direct investment and poverty reduction in Nigeria. Foreign direct investment (FDI) generates per capita income, however PCI does not generate FDI. Thus, there existed unidirectional causality, and the outcome represented the spread of adjustment to the long-run equilibrium. My policy advice for (FDI) policymakers is to pay more attention to the overall function of FDl in poverty reduction in light of There should be provisions for an enabling environment that would provide a better incentive to attract FDI inflows. Foreign direct investment influences poverty reduction. To truly experience the benefit of FDI, the government needs ensure that FDI flows into the actual sector.
